In late January 2026, we are beginning an exciting new journey with our kids at River Corner Church. For the next two years, our Kingdom Adventures time will take children through the whole story of Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation, using The Biggest Story curriculum from Crossway. Along the way, they’ll discover how every part of the Bible points to Jesus and what it looks like to live God’s Kingdom way in our world today.

Why We’re Excited About The Biggest Story

We believe our children are not just the church of tomorrow, but the church of today. That’s why we want them to experience the fullness of God’s story in ways that are engaging, memorable, and life-shaping. Our Kingdom Adventures time is an adventure together to discover what happens when God’s Kingdom—God’s rule, God’s reign as King, and God’s ways—comes to life in our lives, church, and neighborhoods. We believe The Biggest Story curriculim will help them grasp the Kingdom of God that Jesus proclaimed and demonstrated.

What to Expect with The Biggest Story

Each Sunday, children in Pre-K through 6th grade will join the congregation for worship in song and then head downstairs for a meaningful time together. Our weekly format will include:

  • Gather & Color (10:30 A.M.) – Check-in, settle in with coloring sheets, and a reminder of our shared vision, mission, values, and expectations.
  • Teach (10:35 A.M.) – Four short teaching moments: The Big Picture (5 minutes), Tell the Story (10 minutes), Teach the Story (5 minutes), and Gospel Connection (5 minutes).
  • Engage (11:00 A.M.) – Kids respond with a short discussion question (5 minutes), then choose an activity or craft (10 minutes).
  • Dismissal (11:15 A.M.) – Parents pick up their children.

This rhythm allows for time for worship, storytelling, reflection, and creativity, while maintaining a structured and enjoyable atmosphere.

Building a Kingdom Culture

Along with the new curriculum, we’re introducing a set of Vision, Mission, Values, and Expectations for Kingdom Adventures. These mirror the life of our church and help kids see themselves as part of the larger family of God. Each week, children will be reminded that they are loved, called to love God and others, and invited to live out the ways of Jesus.

Our 10 Expectations are simple: worship together, listen well, care for one another, use kind words, respect the Scriptures, follow directions, and treat our space with care. These create an environment where everyone can feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.

Join the Adventure

We’d love for your kids to be part of this journey in late January. However, we would love for them to be part of our Kingdom Adventures each week this year, too. Whether your family has been part of River Corner Church for years or you’re just looking for a place where your children can grow in faith, Kingdom Adventures is a space where kids can worship, learn, and experience God’s Kingdom together.

Parents, you’ll also receive tools to continue the conversation at home, helping the story of Scripture become part of everyday life.

We can’t wait to see what God does as our kids dive into the big story of the Bible and discover how it all points to Jesus.

Come and join the adventure!

Revealing the Biggest Story in our Kingdom Adventures time at River Corner Church

I have been pastoring at River Corner Church since 2022. You can learn more about that and me here. Although this journey through The Biggest Story begins in January, we hope you will consider starting to worship with us at River Corner Church now. You are welcome as you are—just be yourself.

I’m a Doctor of Ministry student at Kairos University, where my research focuses on the Lord’s Prayer as a path and framework for spiritual formation and communal discipleship. I also hold an MBA in Executive Leadership from City Vision University, along with two master’s degrees from Fuller Seminary—one in Theology and Ministry, and the other in Global Leadership. Currently, I serve as the Director of Pastoral Ministries at Water Street Mission and as the pastor of River Corner Church. My journey to this point has taken me from activism and hitchhiking to seminary classrooms and ministry leadership. I live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, with my wife and our three daughters, where we try to live simply, love deeply, and enjoy life outdoors whenever we can. Through this site and my Lead a Quiet Life blog on Patheos, I share what I’m learning about prayer, discipleship, and leading a quieter, more intentional life with Jesus.
